I believe the purpose of a college education is to gain knowledge about your specific major. The education that you acquire in college will further enable you to pursue the occupation you want.
What does it mean to be educated?
To be educated means to have knowledge from both the classroom and experience. This is why, for example, nursing majors have clinicals. Through these clinicals they gain hands on experience from which they learn.

I have this belief because it helps me to have experience as well as the classroom education to grasp what is being taught to me. Experience is more hands on and personal than being taught in the classroom. It's more memorable.
